Leather question: How can I make leather lie flat again after it has curled?

I have some nice leather sandals and the straps are curled up. I have no clue how to make them lay flat again and they look funny now when they straps are curled up. Any advice on how to straighten them out?

Since they may be dried out, you might consider liquid mink oil. It'll take a few applications to get it soaked through.

Real mink oil, (not the kind that come in paste form), is hard to find in my area.
Finally found it at a farmers and ranchers western tackle shop.
