Can Mitt Romney challenge John McCain in Arizona?

He won Nevada by an extremely wide margin, he's the expected winner in Utah (of course), he has the endorsement of Tom Tancredo working for him in Colorado, and his numbers are rising in California. Basically, he has Arizona surrounded, and they're all (except for Nevada) voting on February 5th.

How embarrassing would it be to beat McCain in his home state.

Actually, McCain could very well lose AZ. Remember it is a closed primary and ONLY republicans can vote for the nominee. AZ also has a lot of Mormons too, they are likely going to vote for Romney because they have no anti-Mormon bias, obviously, and therefore, can see Romney is the better choice.

MCCain has ticked off too many people with his Shamnesty bill and has done nothing to promote stopping illegal immigration. With Arizona being a border state and has hurt much from the problem, I would imagine most GOP voter can't wait to give Mac the shaft.

I recently saw a poll showing that McCain was voted unacceptable GOP candidate by AZ voters. For the life me, I cannot find it right now.

I will post it once i do find it.

Romney will take AZ.
