My puppy, Henry, won't go potty anywhere but on the floor where the puppy pad used to be?

I've tried moving the pad a little at a time toward the door and he will still potty on the spot where the puppy pad was. I tried to create him as well, he just thinks I want him to take a nap and when he gets out he goes for the spot where the puppy pad used to be?? Please help once again.

puppy pads are a waste of time. you have to train the dog to go on the pad, and then train the dog to go outside. this can be really confusig to pups, especially when they can smell the area where the pad was to start with.

why not just train him to go outside in the first place?

every single time he goes, pick him up and put him outside, even if he is still half way through. when he is finished outside, praise him. meanwhile, dont give him a chance to go inside - take him out frequently. it will only take a week or two if you are really consistent.
