I climbed in English for 11 years, but I never learned the answer to this question. I ride too Western, why are they not used in the west?
Help her to give a horse extra support when they are round and chewing. They are optional, but they do help when a rider is more advanced and the horse has to occur and fall. Western riders do not use them because they do not need to keep their horses collected.
