Bit Broken
Friday, September 3rd, 2010I was drilling to get a piece of steel out of something, and the drill bit broke inside, what is the best way?
What kind of drill bit should i use to get now both pieces? the broken drill bit, and the piece of steel I was trying to pull out originally? Thank you for your answers.
If you are using a milling machine to drill the holes, use a carbide endmill, very high (6-8000)rpms, and peck at the drill in very small steps. Be certian to use plent of lube/coolant. If you are using a hand drill, try to find an "EZ out" tool or a left handed drill bit to remove the drill. Most industrial supply shops and/or automotive supply shops will stock them.
