Quilt Saddle
Friday, December 24th, 2010Can you use a thin quilted saddle pad by itself or must it be used with a thicker shaped pad overtop?
The saddle fits properly, I am just unsure if it would be enough protection for the horse from rubbing by itself? Thanks!
I recently had professional saddle fitter come look at two saddles i had. After she adjusted the best one to perfect its fit, I asked about pads. She told me to use either the fleece fitted pad or a thicker square pad (I ride hunt seat). Asked about the thin "baby pads" she said don't use them because the tend to wrinkle under the saddle and that that will rub.
