HELPP!! SNAFFLE BITS ANYONE ?
Hii, i need help i have just taken on my friends horse because they want him ready for a show in 2 weeks!! i agreed too do it however he is very heavy headed! he will go on the bit in a egg but snaffle however he fights for his head! They want him worked in a snaffle because he will be going in novice horse where only a snaffle is permited :/ Im just wondering if anyone knows of any snaffle bits with a different mouthpiece thats going to be stronger (Slow Twist Etc).
Thanks i am aware when it comes to this type of thing time should be used, all other horses i have had longer to school and they have all been schooled in an egg butt, but as i only have two weeks i need to cut the corners somewhere x
The same old answer is going to apply here to all the similar questions, namely, that it's a training issue, and it takes time.
That said, yes there are snaffles with more "bite." Everything from double-twisted wire (most severe) on down to a slow twist. The narrower the branches of the bit, the more the horse feels the pressure. The Dr Bristol is more severe also, unlike the French Link which is the most mild.
