Loose Ring
Have you ever heard of the Myler comfort loose ring snaffle?
I was looking at them and they were over twice as much money as other snaffles that look the same. Do you know why they are so much more expensive? Are they worth the money?
They have applied principles of ergonomics in their designs, and the bits are well crafted. Dr. Hilary Clayton did compare at least one or two of the Myler snaffles to others in her dynamic fluoroscopic bit studies and didn't find any demonstrated advantage over other similar snaffles, though. But I know of some people who are very satisfied with them. The bit you refer to would be better if it wasn't a loose ring bit in my opinion, since one of the things I like about it is the ability to independently lift one or the other side of the bit mouthpiece. The loose ring design would interfere with that to a large degree. I do think they are worth the money if they accomplish the right fit and your horse responds well in them.
