Trimming ends of leather bridle?
A little backstory, I splurged on a really nice dressage bridle for my horse, and it was too small, so i exchanged it for the larger size. Now its a bit too big, but I think it will do. I punched all the necessary holes in it, and now I want to trim the ends so it doesn't look sloppy. Since this was a big purchase I wanted to consult someone before I started hacking away at the straps-
What is the best way you're found to trim leather? Any tips?
I am a leather worker. Road Apples is right. Take it to someone who works with leather.
I'm guessing this bridle is doubled and stitched. You are not likely to have tools sharp enough to safely cut and trim the leather.
Before you hand it over to anyone to hack on it, ask for the process they will employ to "finish" your bridle, not finish it off...
