Is An Eggbutt Snaffle-?
An English bit? I am buying a Korsteel sweet iron eggbutt snaffle. Is it western or english. It's not like it really matters, I was just wondering.

Well I ride western. I'm using it for a first bit for my 2 year old to work with, and then a 'refining' bit for my 3 year old. I only have those god aweful shank snaffle type deals, and cannot get my girl to be supple and flexible.
It can be used in either. In western horses it's generally a training bit (before the horse progresses to a curb) but it can also be used for a finished horse, especially for beginner riders or if you aren't doing any serious work with the horse that requires a curb.
In English horses it's a good training bit too, but you will see it more often on a finished English horse than you will on a finished western horse.
