Kimberwick Snaffle
Which of these is considered a snaffle bit?
I've done so much research and I feel like none of these are coming up as a snaffle... :/

B. Kimberwick
C. Tom Thumb
D. Pelham
What defines a snaffle is the placement of the mouthpiece on the rings/dees that the reins attach to. The mouthpiece has to be at dead center of the ring or dee in order to function as a snaffle. A Kimberwicke , for example, cannot function as a snaffle since the cannons of the mouthpiece are not centered on the bar of the dee, so that the dee functions as a lever arm with shanks. Even if you attach the reins loose on the dee, it can't work as a snaffle since the reins will not line up directly with the corners of the mouth. If the reins are attached to a slot that lines up with the mouth, the rigid fixing of the reins causes leverage force as well. A Kimberwicke should never be used without the curb chain or strap, since this will cause the mouthpiece to over-rotate in the horse's mouth, and it cannot function as a snaffle.
None of these bits are snaffles. A snaffle can have any mouthpiece, solid or jointed, and what makes it a snaffle is the direct line to the mouth from the reins.
The Pelham allows for both snaffle and curb function if you use two sets of reins, with one set attached alongside the mouth and the other set attached at the ends of the shanks.
Add......actually, the Australian Tom Thumb is a true snaffle bit, so it depends on whether you are referencing the American version, which is a curb bit with shanks, or the Aussie version which is similar to a full cheek snaffle bit.
