How do you loose jump your horse?
I have an 8 year old thoroughbred gelding. I do alot of show jumping, hunting and cross country on him. He loves to jump! He knows what he is doing. I want to learn how to loose jump him safely and correctly on a lunge line. I want to loose jump him because I just want to watch him move and see how uses himself over his fences! He has a very big jump. I will of course get advice too from my trainer also but any other advice would be a great help! Where on the head collar do you attach the lunge line? And any advice on the actual jumps themselves? thanks

Before trying the lunge line work... using a round pen and put one or two poles down before trying the jump.
Your first goal is that you can successfully go over the pole, or poles with out a change in the line, the speed can change but can't go in or out of the line.
The second goal is to not use the lunge line and have him move around the pen and even change direction on command.
I pretend, I still have the lunge line, even act like I change hands of the lunge line when asking to change direction.
After doing that then you are ready.
