English Headstall
Is there any importance to an English noseband?
Is the noseband on an English bridle all that important? As long as you don't have a martigale, do you have to have one, or could you take it off and just use the headstall? (is that even what you call a bridle without a noseband? O_o)
A plain cavesson noseband actually serves very little purpose except to make the horse's face look less long ( I'm serious believe it or not ! )
It's original purpose was supposedly to stop the horse from being able to open his mouth wide as this could cause horrendous injuries in the event of a fall.
