Double Dressage
Is my bit legal for dressage eventing?
I have a Myler Low Port Dee bit and I'm not sure it's legal for dressage. It has independent side movement (but I think that's ok). I'm just worried about the port- I looked on the USEA website and it seems like the only bits with ports that are ok are ones used with double bridles. (my bit does not have hooks- I don't know if that's important or not!)
I would really appreciate a straight-forward answer, the rulebooks are confusing to me! Thank you so much for your help!
The myler snaffle with a wide (1 inch) barrel and the jointed snaffle are the only myler bits legal for dressage or the dressage portion of eventing. You can use your bit for the stadium and x-country portions.
Nothing with a port until it is a curb bit and second level double bridle. You interpreted the rules correctly.
