Browband Reins
Western Pleasure Bosal....?
My horse doesn't do well with a curb or tom thumb bit, so I will be using a bosal in shows next spring and summer. I have one I use at the barn, but it's just a training bosal and I wouldn't use it in a show. I have the macate reins and a rawhide noseband but I don't have a "hanger". Is it okay (in OPEN shows) to use a regular show bridle attached to the bosal?
I would get a one or two ear (not a browband) show headstall and attach it.
Hey 'conalover'.
I live in Minnesota. The pictures were from Waconia and Hamel. =]
Take a look at the rules for the show. I know at the local 4-H Shows bosals are only allowed for horses up to a certain age. The shows follow the APHA rules, so you might want to take a look but I remember that from the entry form, as I have one horse I work in a bosal that I was interested in showing.
