Bridle Bit
I dug up an old bridle and bit on my property. The bit is solid nickel, I'm wondering about it.?
I'm wondering what time period this would've been used. I know that horses don't like the taste of nickel. There is horse logging history here from the 1920's. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.
Check your state's closest museum, the currators over there would know local history and timelines. You'd be really lucky if it was from the Civil War (1860's) but it's probably turn of the century.
